Ever since I bought my first Etude Play Color Eyes 10-pan palette, which was the Bakehouse palette, I’ve been interested in trying out the other palettes in the lineup.
I was able to try this palette out compliments of Jolse, an online store that offers some great deals on coveted k-beauty. If you haven’t already, you can check out my Jolse haul post here. As mentioned in that post, Jolse gave me $60 in store credit to check out any items of my choosing. I had my eyes on this palette for quite some time now, so I was happy to add this to my cart. As you can see, this palette features a café theme, hence the name “Caffeine Holic.” It includes a beautiful array of neutral-warm pinky brown tones. I love the little doodles that accompany the shade names in the Etude Play Color Eyes 10-pan palettes. It’s too bad they are printed on the plastic insert instead of on the packaging itself. They are super cute!
As you can see, there are five shimmery shades and five matte shades. The first and fourth shades are smooth shimmers, whereas the third and ninth shades have a bit more sparkle. The third and ninth shades are more sparkly, but they don’t have any chunky glitter and the texture is still very smooth. The tenth shade is similar to the first and fourth shades, but it’s more of a matte, dark brown base with shimmer flecks. The first two mattes work great as base shades (they may be a little light if you have a deeper complexion), and the sixth shade is perfect for adding a bit of natural shading. You could stop there or you can opt to add more depth to your look with the seventh shade, which really transforms the look and gives off a slightly sultry mood. Again, you could stop here or you can go in with one or both of the darker brown shades. The eighth shade is a reddish brown that adds to the sultry effect brought on by the seventh shade, whereas the tenth shade is a comparatively cooler brown that gives off a “cleaner,” more classic effect. The shimmer flecks in the tenth shade work well with the color by helping the darker brown not fall flat. The formulation of these are all quite smooth. The only one I would say is a little streaky is the tenth shade. The formula is a little thin, but I personally think it works to my advantage; it’s good for making sure I’m not too heavy handed with this darker color.
The shade names in this palette are super cute just like those of the other palettes in the 10-pan palette line. In order from left to right, the shade names are as follows:

- Decaf Coffee
- Cold Brew Latte
- Salted Caramel Latte
- Ice Cube Latte
- Black with Extra Shot
- Up All Night
- Extra Caffeine

This palette does have a sultry mood going for it, so I recommend it for the fall season or for nights out. The packaging is light, compact, and simple, so it’s really easy to throw in your makeup bag as well. Overall, I really enjoy the formula of this palette, and I think the colors are all very cohesive. I recommend it if you love palettes with warm, sultry colors.
