As the title states, welcome to my new blog! I ran a blog called loriboriii.com for close to five years before I made the jump on switching over to self-hosting. I’ve been meaning to change the domain for a while now too, so I figured this would be the perfect time to do so. Introducing tsukibori.com!
Tsukibori is a mashup of two words: tsuki and Bori. Tsuki means “moon” in Japanese and is one of my favorite words. I find the moon very alluring and beautiful, thus I wanted to incorporate that into the name. Bori is the online alias I use as well the nickname my friends call me by. My cousin gave me this nickname, and now, many of my study abroad friends also call me Bori since we first met online. I believe tsukibori also refers to a style of Japanese paper-cutting art, which I think is pretty rad. I had to Google this just in case it happened to be an obscene word in a foreign language.
Before establishing this new blog, I shared on my old site that I recently got accepted into the Japan Teaching & Exchange (JET) Program as an assistant language teacher (ALT). This is a job position that allows me to live and work in Japan for the next several years. I will continue to post updates and share stories of my upcoming life abroad here on this blog, so I hope you look forward to those! I will also continue to share product reviews and other beauty-related content that I hope you’ll find interesting. I also appreciate any feedback or ideas on what you would like to see, so feel free to reach out at any time!
Also, just as a quick note, I was able to transfer the content over from my old blog, but it seems like the featured images aren’t converting over as thumbnails. It just shows up as a white image on the homepage, but if you click the title, it will take to you the blog post. Thankfully, it looks like all the images inside the blog posts transferred over fine, so you can still look at past product reviews and other content.
Thank you so much for checking out and supporting my new blog! If you’re a reader from my old blog, I’d be happy to connect with you here as well! My old followers list isn’t transferring over so just wanted to give you a heads up in case you wanted to continue receiving notifications regarding new posts. Thanks for sticking around all these years, and I can’t wait to share even better content with you all here on tsukibori.com!
