Hi, friends! Welcome back another blogmas post! Today’s featured products are the Too Faced Gingerbread Man and Gingerbread Girl Melted Matte liquid lipsticks. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on each individual shade as well as share what they look like when mixed together.
I’ve wanted these lipsticks ever since Too Faced released these, but I could not bring myself to purchase them at retail price. I finally got my hands on them when Too Faced had their 20% off friends and family sale which Sephora price-matched. Part of me thought I should wait until Too Faced’s Black Friday sale, but I just could not help myself and went for the plunge. Low-key regretting it because it was 40% off during Black Friday/Cyber Monday.
First of all, these lipsticks smell incredible. They don’t smell like gingerbread, but they do smell like coffee beans. I’m totally on board with that. Another thing I just want to mention is that the caps on these feel a tad bit flimsier than the regular Melted Matte lipsticks. It’s nothing that really affects the product or application, but it was just something I immediately noticed as I unscrewed the caps. Additionally, when I first opened Gingerbread Girl, there was a long glob of product hanging off the end of the doe-foot applicator. I’m sure this was just due to this batch of lipstick not being mixed thoroughly in the vat, and I was able to mix it back in just fine.
Personally, I prefer the color of Gingerbread Man over Gingerbread Girl. While I do like both, I just think the pumpkin orange of Gingerbread Man is more unique. However, what I love even more is the color I get when I mix both Gingerbread Man and Gingerbread Girl together. It creates a very beautiful burnt red shade.
I wouldn’t say these are the longest lasting liquid lipsticks on the market, but they do a good job of staying on your lips. I also think they do a good job at not overly drying out the lips, especially if you prep and moisturize beforehand. I can say that the Melted Matte line is my favorite formula from the Too Faced Melted lipstick series, and I highly recommend you check these two shades out. Maybe wait for a nice sale though since these can be quite pricey at retail price ($21).
I hope you found this post useful and interesting! What did you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts on these two shades and if they are something you have your eyes on. Thank you so much for reading, and I’ll catch you all in tomorrow’s post!
Until next time,
