The Face Shop Real Nature Aloe Face Mask Review

Hello, friends! I’m so excited about writing this review! It’s the first Face Mask Friday post since I restarted this series. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the aloe face mask from The Face Shop’s Real Nature line. Let’s get started!

I’ve actually used this mask several times in the past since I bought it in a pack of ten during Nature Collection’s 10+10 sale. Nature Collection is a store in South Korea that sells beauty products from The Face Shop and other related brands. I decided to use this mask today since I felt my skin needed a bit of smoothing from all the late summer sun. Aloe is a great ingredient for hydrating and soothing the skin, especially from overexposure to the sun.

This mask features a water-type essence formulated without these five additives: parabens, triethanolamine, propylene glycol, tar colorant, and mineral oil. The essence is made from a natural grinding extraction process “where natural plants are ground and blended with a moisturizing water-based ingredient to create a natural effect.” The sheet mask itself is said to be a “natural adhesive mask formulated with tree extracts [that] clings tightly to skin to infuse it with essence.” I feel like this is accurate because I even stretched the mask across my temple and it stayed put. It also says that the product is gentle on sensitive skin.

Pre-mask

Directions:
1. Wash face and apply toner. Remove mask from packet and gently unfold.
2. Place mask on entire face, smoothing to fit curves and adjusting around eyes, noses and mouth.
3. Remove after 10 to 15 minutes and pat in remaining content to absorb into skin.

Mask

As for the cutout of the mask, I really liked it. It perfectly fit the top of my forehead to the bottom of my chin. It came a bit short near my jaw but it wasn’t anything significant. I would have liked the eye cutouts a little wider and more apart. It wasn’t terrible but a bit more would have allowed it to rest better between the eyes and not worry about essence seeping into the outer corners of my eyes. It didn’t seep into my eyes as I was careful about it, but I think I would have liked it better if the cutouts were a bit wider. Overall, however, I think it was a great fit for my face.

The mask felt cooling on the face even though I did not put this in the refrigerator. If you’ve never tried putting your sheet masks in the fridge, you really should try it next time. It not only helps preserve the ingredients in the mask but also provides better cooling and depuffing effects.

Post mask

The essence is quite nice as it seems to absorb well into the skin. It does leave a bit on the skin after removing the sheet mask and patting the product in. It feels a bit sticky and oily even after patting, but it continues to absorb slowly into the skin. After it fully absorbs, the skin feels really hydrated and smooth. If you have drier skin than me (I have oily skin), the product may absorb even faster for you. Aloe is one of those ingredients that doesn’t show a ton of immediate visible results for me, but one thing I did notice was that my face looked less red after use.

How did you all like this face mask review? I’m so stoked to be bringing this series back. It’s also a great way for me to start clearing out my ridiculous face mask collection. I hope you all have a fabulous Face Mask Friday, and I’d love to hear what mask you’ll be using to celebrate in the comments. I could always use a good face mask recommendation!
