Hello, friends! Today’s post features a neutrals palette by the brand Sweet & Shimmer. This palette is super inexpensive at just $2.99 and had zero reviews at the time, so I was really skeptical about its performance. However, when I looked at the palette online, I bought it with hopes for a specific texture. Now that I have it in my hands, will this cheap palette live up to my expectations?
Taking a look at the packaging, it’s very compact and thin, which I appreciate because this makes the palette great for travel. It has what appears to be a holographic trim because of the holographic sticker on the back.
I’m not sure if Sweet & Shimmer is a private label brand. Anyways, here is the back. It states that this palette is cruelty-free, which is always great!
Here is the inside of the palette as you saw in the first photo since the palette is encased in clear packaging. It has the bare essentials of a light shade, a dark matte, and your choice of two shimmers. I like how there are both a light shimmer and a dark shimmer. I think this palette’s packaging and color choice really make this the perfect option for traveling light, but of course, the quality needs there for it to be great. Does it hold up?
The quick answer is: yes! As you can see in the photo above, each swatch is a single swipe and the pigmentation is there. Both the shimmers and mattes are super smooth with the texture being pretty much exactly how I had hoped. Honestly, the quality of these shadows blows a lot of high-end brands out of the water. I still can’t get over the light shimmer. Just look at that metallic reflect!! If you can get your hands on this, I definitely recommend it as it’s super inexpensive but has really great quality. I managed to buy it for $1 during a 5 for $5 sale, but even at retail price, it’s such a great value. I hope Sweet & Shimmer comes out with more of these!
I hope you liked my review of this palette! I think it will make a great stocking stuffer for makeup lovers. By the way, only 22 days until Christmas! How exciting! I’ll be posting every day until Christmas, so be sure to stay tuned for more content! Yesterday’s post was a review of the Morphe 35V Stunning Vibes palette. Tomorrow’s post will be a Daiso haul!
