September Favorites

Hi, friends! It’s already mid-October, but I hope you don’t mind me sharing my September favorites now. September in the Bay Area this year was a weird time of fluctuating weather ranging from super hot heat waves to cool winds and rain. Just when you thought it’s finally time for pumpkin spice lattes, summer just barged back in and decided otherwise. I don’t have too many products to share, but here are a few that I really enjoyed last month.

To start off, this isn’t exactly a makeup product, but I had a great time depotting and rearranging products in this. I bought three NARS Pro Palettes, two larges and one small. I intend on using the small one as a way to consolidate my travel makeup as I’m always looking for way to reduce my luggage (read this post to learn my tried and true methods for traveling with less makeup!). I’ve been using the large ones to hold single eyeshadows, blushes, bronzers, and product from bulkier palettes. I love how sleek this palette looks and feels. When doing my research on which empty palette to purchase, I noticed many complaints on how easily the cover gets dirty from the fabric material. While it can get dirty, it’s actually made from what seems like wallpaper material that can be easily wiped. I wish I bought more because I did not realize how many makeup products I owned that need to be depotted! If NARS offers a big discount, I might purchase a few more because I know I’m going to buy more single eyeshadows from Aritaum and Etude House in the future.

This next favorite is a product I’ve used for a while, but I wanted to make a special mention for September. It’s the Fresh Herb Origin Toner from Nacific. The reason why I love this toner is because it does such a great job removing extra residue and gunk on the skin — even makeup. I used up my travel-sized bottle of La Roche-Posay’s Micellar Cleansing Water, so I used this toner as a replacement. Honestly, it does a great job and comes in handy when removing swatches and late night eye makeup practices.

September was a month of eyeshadows for me. I had so much fun trying out a bunch of new colors and looks, even playing around with older palettes. The palettes I did really enjoy in September were the Colourpop 12-pan palettes I reviewed and swatched (click to open a new tab: Orange You Glad, Uh-huh Honey, Baby Got Peach, Sol). My favorites out those four palettes have to be Orange You Glad and Sol. They are very fall-esque, and I love it. Eyeshadows in general really were the standout product category last month.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this even though it’s already halfway into October. I am so excited for October because it’s finally starting to really feel like fall, which means it’s time to bring out the dark lipstick! Who else loves a good dark lip?

Thanks so much for reading, and until next time,
