Hello there! I’m back with another Face Mask Friday! Although it is a bit late, I hope you enjoy this quick review of the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask that is targeted to clear pores!
The amount of product you get is pretty good, I would say. It will definitely last you quite a long time!
The container is a standard squeeze tube. I like that the opening is not too small to where it is hard to squeeze out yet not too big where too much product is ejected.
Let’s get started, shall we? Above is my freshly cleansed, bare face. The instructions on the back of the packaging say to steam your face before applying the mask. Steaming your face will allow your pores to open up, allowing the mask to work better.
I applied a thin layer all over my face using my finger. The consistency feels like a thin gel when you squeeze it out and spreads super smoothly across the skin.
There were no instructions stating how long to leave this mask on, so I simply waited about ten minutes until the mask completely hardened. I like to smile in my pictures but the dried mask was too tight!
After ten minutes, I rinsed the mask off with warm water. Suprisingly, this mask washed off quite easily. Granted, it isn’t a thick mud mask, but it’s still a wash off mask, so I was happy to note that I didn’t have to spend ages trying to remove all the mask off.
As for my final thoughts, I would say that this mask is very gentle. There wasn’t a strong cooling sensation when I applied it, and it didn’t strip my skin of its moisture. I think those with sensitive skin may enjoy this. My skin felt softer afterwards too. As for the intended purpose of clearing pores, I’m not too sure about that. I think I will have to use it more to see if it does as it doesn’t seem to be a one-step wonder (a lot of great products aren’t). I definitely have other masks I prefer to use for pore clearing purposes just because I personally love a mask that packs a punch versus one that also produces good results but over a longer period of time. Again, if you have sensitive skin, I think this might be up your ally. Check it out!
