A new collection just in time for the coming fall season!
OLENS Global recently came out with a new colored contacts collection just in time for the upcoming fall season, and I couldn’t be more excited to try them out. Autumn has historically been a season where I like to play around with bolder makeup looks, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve been leaning towards more natural daily looks. I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m getting older and realizing that I’d rather sleep in an extra hour in the mornings than do a full face of makeup or because the trend lately has also been transitioning to more natural look. I don’t think it’s important to follow what’s trending, but I’m curious if that’s also made an impact as to why I don’t go for bolder colors as much now. It might also have to do with preferring a quick and easy morning and nighttime routine now that I’m working long hours at a professional job. Either way, I’ve been really into the soft, natural look lately, so I’m loving the vision that OLENS had in mind when creating this new design.
This collection has more of a diffused, blended look versus some of the more striated iris designs seen in the Scandi, Smoky Russian, and French Gold 3con lenses. Definitely a much more softer and gentler look compared to the more defined look of the aforementioned collections. This collection features a deep and clear edge line or outline that makes the irises stand out. There is also a section that gives of a highlight effect, making the eyes seem more lively and youthful. OLENS’ aim with this collection was to offer a more realistic and natural look with the highlight effect and deep edge line, ultimately making the eyes more multi-dimensional. The various blended shades of the Eyelighter Glowy lenses aim to offer a brightening effect even when there isn’t much light.
Just a quick disclaimer before we go further, I did receive these as PR to test and review, but all opinions are my own and 100% honest. Receiving a product as a gift or for review purposes does not alter or affect how I feel about its performance and design. If I like a product, I will say that I do. In that same regard, if I am reviewing a product and I do not like it, I will say so. With that said, let’s continue with the review!
Now, I can’t do a product review without talking about the packaging. Of course, the product itself is the most important thing, but when a well-made product comes in beautiful packaging? Chef’s kiss. It just makes the experience that much more luxurious and satisfying. It also relays that the brand really put thought and care into designing the product as a whole.
OLENS does an incredible job of making its packaging both aesthetic, functional, and informative. The outside box plays with a combination of color, texture, font, and finish, making it both look and feel luxurious. It also includes useful information such as color, style, manufacture date, expiration date, lot number, prescription, base curve, diameter, product count, and material.
The contacts container packaging is very well thought out. It includes the color, style, manufacture date, expiration date, lot number, prescription, base curve, and diameter on the packaging for each individual lens so that it’s clear even after throwing away the box. The back is transparent so that the design and color can be easily seen. The adhesive on the packaging makes it very secure and travel friendly. I also really appreciate that OLENS has different packaging for its monthly and daily contacts, so it’s clear which ones should be thrown out after a single wear and which ones can be worn again for up to 30 days. For those of you who are wondering, the packaging of the monthly lenses are flatter and more rectangular than the daily lenses.
The lenses in this collection are made of hema material (monthly version) and have a water content of 40%. As of now, only the monthly duration lenses are available, but OLENS in general carries both monthly and daily-wear contacts, so I would not be surprised to see them come out with daily versions soon. The graphic diameter of these lenses is 13.1mm with a total diameter of 14.2mm. The graphic diameter refers to the diameter of the colored part of the lens, whereas the total diameter refers to the diameter of the actual lens material. OLENS went with this graphic diameter size and seamlessly diffused color pattern to create an effortlessly enhanced glowy aesthetic. The base curve of the Eyelighter Glowy monthly lenses is 8.6mm. For anyone needing prescription, OLENS does provide the option to add prescription power up to 8.00.

The Eyelighter Glowy contacts all feature three different colors that seamless blend to create a soft yet defined look. There are three colors to choose from: glowy black, glowy brown, and glowy ash gray. You can see the comparison above as well as how they each compare to my regular eye color. You can move the bar in the images below to see the before and after effects.
I really love that OLENS created both a black and ash gray option. I find that black is not a common color when it comes to colored contact as most colored contacts are used to lighten up the irises and provide brighter color. I also love how the black option isn’t a singular black-gray shade gradient but includes some golden brown hues to make the eyes look softer. Glowy black is described as a dark gold shade of highlighter on a soft black base. This one would be a nice option for someone with dark eyes looking to bring in some natural light in a very subtle way. This one was my personal favorite out of the three since it truly gave off a my-eyes-but-better effect.
Glowy brown is a milk brown shade of highlighter on a natural brown base. It was surprisingly brighter than what I expected, giving off a slightly striking contrast with the lighter hues. I would say that this one looks the most elegant out of the three in my opinion.
Glowy ash gray is described as a magical olive shade of highlighter on an ash gray base. The color comes off almost as a blue-gray color when worn. I would say that this one is one of the more wearable grays from the OLENS collections that I’ve tried. It’s actually quite nice and provides a nice contrast to my eyes while still being wearable.

Although I specifically mentioned that these would look great on darker eyes, I think they would also work well for lighter eyes. I, personally, have dark irises, which is why I mention the dark eyes, but because the colors are blended softly and seamlessly, I think they would be great for those with lighter eyes who want to bring more definition to the irises with the deep edge outline. While these lenses look quite understated, they add a touch of natural light and definition to the eyes that really just elevate any eye look. The design and colors really suit the coming fall season, and I think a lot of people will really enjoy wearing this collection.
