November 2016 Favorites

Hello there! Even though we’re about halfway into December, I thought I would share my November favorites with you all. Due to the business of the month with upcoming final exams, I wasn’t able to try out many new products or reintroduce a lot of old loves back into my daily routine, so because of that, this month’s favorites post consists of only a few items (December’s favorites post will contain more products, I promise!). With that said, let’s jump into my November favorites of 2016! I hope you enjoy this quick, little post!

The first favorite I have to share with you all is a super soft flannel from American Eagle. I actually bought this a few years back during Black Friday. I love this plaid shirt for the incredibly soft texture and also for the uniqueness of the colors. I just absolutely adore the bright colors that separately seem like they would not work together but are melded together beautifully in this one article of clothing to create a rich combination of deep colors. I think the combination of these colors just scream autumn leaves, don’t you agree? If you do and you would like to own this shirt for yourself, you’re in luck! American Eagle still carries this cozy shirt in stores and online (I’ll link it down below if you’re interested! Plus, it’s on discount right now!). I’m not too sure if American Eagle ships internationally, but if you’re in the United States, I definitely recommend picking this up! It’s just a great shirt to throw on and snuggle up in, and I’ve been loving it all month long!

Continuing with the current theme of fall and past loves, another reintroduced favorite of mine this month are my brown combat boots from White Mountain. I wear these shoes on the daily because they’re easy to slip on and stay comfortable for a long time. My mom bought these shoes for me during my high school years as a Valentine’s Day gift because she knew how much I wanted a pair of combat boots, and they’ve become a daily staple for years. Can you tell that they’re well-worn and loved? The reason why I’ve included these in my November favorites even though they are an all-time love is that I wasn’t able to wear them for a few months until recently because I left them back at my Norcal home. When I moved back to my current place at San Jose, it was still summer so I didn’t take my combat boots with me. When autumn hit, I really wanted to wear those boots again (partly due to the fall season but also because my go-to, years-old pair of white sneakers had finally reached its last). Luckily, I went back home to NorCal around mid-November for Thanksgiving holiday and was able to pick them up. I’m really glad I did because these boots just simply go with everything! They’re a good pair of worry-free boots both fashion-wise and comfort-wise, and who wouldn’t want that?

Last but not least, I want to give a quick shout out to my favorite band, FTISLAND. Often, I’ll find myself stuck in a rut musically. When I do, I’ll have no idea what type of music to listen to, and nothing will really satisfy my music cravings. You know when you’re craving a certain food, but you don’t know what it is exactly that you’re craving? I’m not sure if that happens to everyone, but it’s like that. I’ll be at a loss for music inspiration, but FTISLAND has always come in clutch. They’ve always been a favorite of mine, but especially with my current music rut, I’ve been listening to them a lot. In fact, I’m listening to them right now as I’m typing out this blog post! I definitely recommend checking them out if this is the first time you’ve heard of them. FTISLAND is a five member rock band from South Korea with Lee Hongki as their front man, who is considered one of Korea’s top vocalists. The other members play a variety of instruments and sing as well with the occasional rap. The band plays a variety of genres from heavy rock to indie rock to rock ballads and others. I love them all but if you’d like to check them out, here are my recommendations:

Honestly, it’s so difficult trying to pick out one favorite FTISLAND song. Even with all these recommendations, I can still think of more FTISLAND songs that I highly love. Also, just a quick note that even though FTISLAND is a Korean band, they are also extremely popular in Japan so many of their songs have both a Japanese and Korean version. Sometimes I like their Japanese versions better even though I can understand the Korean version because I think the sounds of the Japanese language flow smoother.

If my enthusiasm didn’t reach you in my above description of them, maybe this will: FTISLAND was the first foreign male band to top Japan’s Oricon Charts in 42 years! That’s almost half a century! Hopefully you check them out and find a song you like in their various types of genres!

Wow. On hindsight, this wasn’t that short of a post, haha. Even though this was a late post, I hope you all still enjoyed reading it. I’d also love to hear from you! What were some of your favorites in the month of November? Are some of you still feeling autumnal or are we all fully on board with the festive spirit? Let me know by leaving me a comment! Also, have you heard of FTISLAND before too or is this your first time? If you plan on checking them out, let me know what you think of them! If you like their music, I can give you more recommendations as well. Lastly, here’s that American Eagle flannel link. Hope you enjoyed this post, and I’ll see you all in the next one!
