Hello, friends! Yes, another face mask post haha. I’ve got a ton of these coming, and I apologize in advance for the lack of variety around here. I’ve just got a ton of these, and I want to make sure I have a chance to review each one before I use them up. Today’s sheet mask is another one from Mitomo, a Japanese brand.
I previously mentioned that I don’t think I’ve tried any Japanese beauty brands other than Senka, but I remembered that I’ve used Boscia and Shiseido before (does Boscia count though? Since I think it’s a U.S. brand created from a Japanese parent company? Not too sure on this). I’ve also recently started to use an emulsifying gel cleanser from Shu Uemura that my friend gave me. I guess I was trying to recall Japanese brands that aren’t sold in American department stores. Anyways, I know there’s still a whole entire world of J-beauty that I haven’t even scratched the surface of, and I’m excited to learn more, starting with the Mitomo brand!
This mask features sake as its key ingredient and claims that “sake has various organic acids, vitamins, and esters. Sake has far more moisturizing elements such as glycerol, or gricerine [sic], and amino acids than other alcoholic beverages. Those elements are often used in cosmetics. Sake bath (adding a bit of sake to bath), has better moisturizing and heat-retention effects than bath without sake (with and without bath powder).”
There isn’t much of a scent to this mask. If anything, you might be able to get a light whiff of sake if you really try, but it was barely detectable that I think it may have been a placebo. I personally prefer a bit of a scent because I think it provides a bit of aromatherapy, but this might be a plus for those who are super sensitive to scents. It’s not a negative by any means, and I think this may be one of the very few, if not the only, sheet masks that I have tried that does not have a scent.
The cutout is pretty standard of the Mitomo sheet masks that I’ve tried. Eye area isn’t cut out completely and the area between the eyes is really slim. Overall, though, it does a pretty good job of not overlapping too much.

I guess it comes down to the following question: would I repurchase? While I didn’t dislike the mask, I wasn’t amazed by it either. It was pleasant and sake offers really nice skin benefits, but I just don’t see myself repurchasing this mask. I don’t have anything bad to say, but it simply didn’t stand out either. I would rather buy other masks to try out versus repurchasing this one.
Hope this helped! Have a great rest of your day my loves!
XOXO,
Bori
