Hello, friends! I wasn’t planning on posting anything tonight, but I just got these little Huda Beauty Nude Obsessions Palettes in the post! Huda Beauty just came out with an addition to their Obsessions series with these nude themed palettes. There are a total of three versions labeled “light,” “medium,” and “rich,” which I think is awesome since a nude color story is not going to be the same for every skin color. A light color story would appear too ashy on someone with a deeper complexion, whereas a rich color story may be too dark to use as a nude palette for someone with a fairer complexion. I think it’s also great that there are not only light and rich color stories but also a medium for those of us who are in between shades. I found all three palettes to be very stunning and beautiful, and I’m excited to share swatches with you all!
Taking a look at packaging, Huda Beauty has decided to utilize plastic packaging instead of the cardboard packaging the original Obsessions palettes are made of. While this plastic version looks much more sleek, keep in mind that this means the product inside is much more susceptible to damage when dropped or while traveling. Cardboard absorbs the shock so the product inside is less prone to damage, whereas plastic will not absorb as much of the shock, so that shock is instead taken on by the product. This actually happened to two of the palettes I received. While the light palette came in pristine condition (minus a cosmetic issue of excess glue), the medium and rich palettes came with one shattered shadow each. Just something to keep in mind if you plan on using these shadows for travel, which would be great since who doesn’t love a good nude palette for travel? Furthermore, I absolutely love the packaging color and cover design. The cover design features a textured, matte alligator print with contrasting reflective lettering, and the colored plastic ties everything together in a sleek yet fun way.
I absolutely love the formulation of these eyeshadows. I think they are very pigmented and buttery smooth. The shimmers in these palettes actually sparkle in the light like one of those video glitter filters. Some of the very dark mattes swatched a little streaky, but the color is buildable and seems to perform well on the eyes. Most of the mattes swatched extremely well and super pigmented. I think the eyeshadows in these palettes are smoother and more pigmented than their original Obsessions palettes, which I already love. I love how Huda Beauty has taken the concept of a nude palette and given it a modern glam twist.
Medium Nude Obsessions Unfortunately got all over my bed sheets
I totally recommend these palettes on the basis of great shadow formula and color story. The mattes are buttery smooth with high pigmentation, and the shimmers are just so stunning. I applaud Huda Beauty for releasing three versions of nude palettes so people with darker complexions aren’t stuck paying for light shades they can’t use. I think it makes makeup a lot more inclusive, which is always important. I do think, however, that there may be people with much a much deeper skin complexion who may still find the rich palette to be on the lighter side, but of course, I’m not the judge of that and can’t say for sure.

Here are the swatches in the order of light, medium, and rich:
The Huda Beauty Nude Obsessions palettes retail for $29 each (the same price as the Neon Obsessions palettes but more expensive than the original Obsessions palettes, which retail for $27). They are currently available on the Huda Beauty store website and will be available for purchase at Sephora tomorrow, October 15.
I hope you found this review helpful and the swatches useful! Will you be picking one (or all) of these up for yourself? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the color stories! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to read this post. I appreciate you so much!
Until next time,

Yes, it’s really pretty! It kind of reminds me of a muted version of the ABH Norvina palette
