A lot of people recommend oils to treat various skin issues, but if there’s one thing I absolutely do not like, it’s the feeling of grease just sitting on my face.
I’ve always wanted the benefits of oils, but I would feel like the oil would just sit on my face without actually penetrating into the skin. If the oil just sits there, then who is to say that it’s actually doing anything? After years and years of trying to enjoy using oils and despising the greasy feeling every step of the way, I figured out the method to actually push the oil into the skin, and I’ll share my secret with you all today.
My secret is to use a cream on top to sandwich the oil and serve as a barrier as well as a mixing medium. Sometimes, I will even use a light essence to thin out heavier balms and oils. As I mentioned in my hydrating vs. moisturizing post, skin absorbs product better when it’s eased into the skin. By thinning out the heavier products, the jump in the heaviness decreases, making it easier for the skin to absorb it. In a way, the lighter product serves as a vector to push the heavier product in.
My favorite product to use on top of oils is the Skinfood Royal Honey Essential Queen’s Night Cream. I find that this cream always finds its way into the skin, pushing in all products I apply before it as well. I use this as the last step in my nighttime skincare routine and wake up to find all the products I applied the night before have absorbed right in.
Use this method along with the skincare tips in my hydrating vs. moisturizing post to get the best glow your skin has ever seen. You can thank me later.
