Faith in Face AHA Peel So Good Bio Cellulose Mask Review

“Originating from South Korea in 2009, Faith in Face is a beauty brand under Ainbee that wants to “save your face” instead of changing it. With a quality lineup of highly-effective and affordable cosmetic products in adorable, fun, colorful packaging, Faith in Face believes that you can step out into the day feeling and looking good with your natural, unblemished beauty.”

The above quote is from BeautyMNL’s website. I bought this product as part of my final beauty haul during my last couple days in South Korea. I had never heard of this brand before, but I was intrigued by the Soap & Glory vibes. Plus, it was on sale, and you know I can never resist a good sale.

Faith in Face says “old, dead skin cells can make the face look dull. Removing the outermost layer by peeling regularly gives the face a smooth and a radiant appearance.” This product claims to softly peel and refine the skin using a soft and comfortable plant-based bio-cellulose mask. This bio-cellulose mask, made with fermented coconut, covers the skin in a peeling essence that removes dead skin without the need for rinsing afterwards. Not only does this product use AHA fruit complex to leave skin feeling soft, it also uses blue marine complex to hydrate and calm the skin.

The instructions for this mask say to remove all protective film and adhere to face. After 15-20 minutes, remove the sheet and pat in remaining essence. It also recommends testing a little bit on the back of the hand for those with sensitive skin.

As you can see in the photos above, there are two other layers in addition to the bio-cellulose mask. The part that is to be applied to the face is the translucent, jelly-like layer. I enjoy using cellulose masks because they have a really fun texture similar to chewy jelly. Cellulose masks are also easy to shape and help product not drip down the face. I find them quite comfortable to wear as well. I’m also happy with the cutout since it covers the tip of my nose. There is a light scent to this mask, but I wouldn’t call it fragrance. It’s not really noticeable once on the face though. It offers a light to medium cooling sensation that feels quite nice.

As for the end result, my skin felt slightly softer, but I don’t think it’s anything an AHA toner can’t achieve over time. A peeling pad is definitely much more efficient and effective as it provides a deeper exfoliation without having to wait 15-20 minutes. If you’re just looking for a gentle exfoliation, however, I would still recommend a peeling gel over this mask. While I don’t necessarily have anything bad to say about this product as it was gentle and did make my skin softer after use, I can’t say that I think it’s a revolutionary product.
