Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack Review

Hello! How’s everyone’s summer? Currently I am living in Northern California, and weather forecasts predict that temperatures are going up to triple digits this weekend! On these types of days, I crave some good cold bubble tea, or boba, as it’s called here. While I might not have boba ready on hand, I do have Etude House’s new Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack! The “flavors” I picked up are black tea and strawberry.

The black tea pack focuses on anti-aging by promoting skin elasticity and a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines.

The strawberry pack focuses on evening out and brightening the skin.

The Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack is so ingeniously designed. The cute packaging really captures the eye, and if I didn’t know it was a face product, I would have been fooled! The plastic container is thick enough to resemble study glass, the spatula looks like a straw (and it has a hole to attach to the side of the jar), and there are even small boba pearls at the bottom! Yes, I repeat, there are pearls at the bottom! How cute is that? The cool thing is that the straw spatula is long enough to pick up the pearls without having to dunk your fingers in the sleeping pack.

Before I go any further, let me explain what a sleeping pack is for those of you who don’t know. A sleeping pack is essentially a moisturizer mask for the face that is applied right before you go to bed. What sets the sleeping pack apart from a regular moisturizer is that it is usually thicker in consistency. Because it is thicker, you’ll find that it is also sticky. That’s fine though as you won’t feel it when you’re sleeping. Your body naturally repairs itself while you sleep, and a sleeping pack will help boost your skin’s moisture levels during those hours. In the morning when you wake up, you just wash it off and you’re good to go!

Here’s how to use the Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack:
Open the cap and you’ll find a protective lid. Remove the lid and using the included spatula, scoop out one pearl at the bottom and the surrounding moisturizer as well. Break the pearl apart by squishing it, and apply the squished pearl and moisturizer evenly throughout the face. Leave on overnight and wash off in the morning.

The lid on this one stuck to the cap, but you’ll see what I mean about the separate lid below for the black tea one.

Here is a close up of the boba pearl. When I first opened the pack, I thought it smelled lightly of Play-Doh. It wasn’t strong to the point where I refused to use it, but when I applied it with the boba pearl, it smelled like strawberries and nothing like Play-Doh. Interesting.

Squish!

Immediately after apply pack (strawberry)
Next morning, no wash off (strawberry)
You can see that the sleeping pack is absorbed into the skin overnight. There is still a residue left over in the morning, but that’s why we wash off the pack.

Here is the black tea one.

Here’s what I mean about the protective lid. There is a small tab to pull it back.

I accidentally cut off some of another pearl. Oops! Also, I found that one scoop was a bit too much so I suggest scraping some off the side of the container or using the excess to apply to neck and chest area.

Immediately after applying pack (black tea)
Next morning, no wash off (black tea)
Again, you can see that the pack is absorbed into the skin, leaving only a slight residue.

While the Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Packs were cute and fun to use, I’m not too sure if they make a huge difference for my skin. I did see that they absorbed into my skin overnight, but I don’t think it made a huge difference in my skin’s moisture levels. I didn’t feel as though my skin was more moisturized than before after using these sleeping packs, nor did I really see a big difference in the anti-aging and brightening aspect with the black tea and strawberry one respectively. With that said, I’ll still continue to use it just because they are very fun to play around with and because I have them on hand.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful summer!
