Colourpop Uh-huh Honey Palette Review + Swatches

Hi, friends! In this post, I’ll be sharing my thoughts and swatches of the Colourpop Uh-huh Honey palette.

Starting off with the packaging, the plastic feels very cheap and already had a lot of scratches on the front when I opened it, but it is a $12 eyeshadow palette, so I can’t complain about that too much.

Upon first look, the colors in the palette look more mustard than yellow. I was slightly disappointed when I opened this, but the colors definitely look more yellow on the skin than in the pan.

All shades swatched on bare skin with the exception of the pressed glitter, which has glitter glue underneath.

Above are the swatches from this palette. While they actually swatch and apply more yellow than mustard in the pans, the overall color story isn’t the super vibrant yellow I was expecting. It’s just ever so slightly darker than what I was hoping for, but a bright yellow look can still be achieved with this palette.

I’d say that the mattes in this palette swatch and apply much lighter than other matte eyeshadows from Colourpop, but the color payoff is definitely easily buildable, especially if you use a light base underneath to prime the eyelids. I do think that the mattes in this eyeshadow palette must have been pressed differently from their other eyeshadows because they feel a little harder with less of the product being picked up, which explains why they swatch lighter. Again, it is very easily buildable. Just don’t expect the strong pigment you get with one swipe of an Anastasia Beverly Hills or even the typical Colourpop eyeshadow.

The shimmers perform excellently just like any other Colourpop shimmer. The only thing to note is that the shade sunburst does contain bigger reflects of blue, and the base shimmer doesn’t look as “wet” as the other two shimmer shades.

As for the pressed glitter, I definitely think it’s a cool look, but I can’t really see it as an everyday product. Plus it’s not really intended for immediate eye area use due to the big glitter flecks that could potentially cut your eyes (use at your own discretion!). I do think the color of the glitter works well with the overall color story and would be fun for festival looks though!

Overall, I think this is a fun palette with some great colors. I really wish there was a lighter, white gold-type shade for an inner corner highlight. I think I could have done without the sunburst shade as I don’t think it really fits with the overall color story. I’m not sure how I feel about the chunky pressed glitter, but I look forward to playing around with it more for festival looks and the like.

I hope this review and the swatches were helpful! I’m thinking of posting some makeup looks using this palette, so please keep an eye out for that if you’re interested! Thanks so much for reading!
