Hello, everyone! I am super excited to share my new Instagram account with you all. It’s going to feature photos of my cooking and baking, and it is called @breadandbori (like “bread and butter” but me, Bori!).
The fall and winter holiday seasons are really inspiring me to bake more and come up with new recipes. I also love cooking for my family and seeing them smile while enjoying some good food and company, so I thought it would be a fun idea to share pictures of what I like to cook for them.
I like to create my own recipes, and I would love to be able to share them with everyone, but I am not sure how to go about this as I tend to have a very Korean style of cooking — that is, I don’t use specific measurements and just kind of eyeball it. Whenever I bake or cook, I tend to just use however much of a certain ingredient I feel is a good amount, which of course, does not bode well for writing out recipes to share on my blog. A lot of my recipes don’t really need specific measurements, such as my Healthy Fruit Yogurt Dessert recipe or the one for my Easy Chicken Fajita Quesadilla Recipe. It’s all about how much you feel like adding. Have a sweet tooth? Add a bit more sugar. Prefer things a little more bittersweet? Use less. Do you see my dilemma? Or maybe this isn’t as big of a deal as I am thinking it is. What do you think? Would you still want to see some of my recipes? If you do, how should I go about it? Should I just upload using measurements that I personally would use or recommend? For reference, I try to use less sugar in my baking and I prefer a bit of tartness from time to time. I also love onions so I always add a lot more than the average person when I cook. I never really think about measurements when I come up with recipes so any tips or advice regarding this would be much appreciated!
So far, I only have pictures of baked goods, but I’m thinking about cooking some artichoke spaghetti aglio e olio and stuffed mushrooms since my mom loves those. I’m so excited to bake and cook more often now that I am back home from South Korea. I look forward to sharing lots more food photos. Let’s meet over on Instagram!
What are some of your favorite dishes and desserts?
